The Opening of the Exhibition “ Inhabitants of Arctic waters” at the Gdynia aquarium, 15th April 2016
„Inhabitants of Arctic waters” was a photographic exhibition presenting pictures taken by the DWARF project participants (Kajetan Deja, Maria Włodarska-Kowalczuk, Piotr Bałazy, Piotr Kukliński) during the fieldwork in Svalbard waters. The pictures included the underwater images taken by scuba divers presenting the hard-bottom fauna and flora, macrophotos of alive invertebrate specimens collected in Arctic fjords, photos picturing the Arctic wildlife and ecologists’ fieldwork. The opening ceremony included a popular science lecture of Prof Jan Marcin Węsławski focused on the climate warming effects on the biota in the Arctic and a small reception. The event was advertised on Gdynia aquarium and DWARF project facebook sites. The photos were exhibited for 2 months.
