Arctic coasts are belived to be one of the most vulnerable habitat in the world. That's a place where harsh conditions of arctic weather meets devastating forces of northen seas. Therefore if any changes are to occur as the environment varies this may be the very first place where ones would be visible.
Having data from 80s and continous observation of physical background together with new data collected using the very same method enable inference on changes in coastal ecosystems of Svalbard.
