Joanna Legeżyńska
Joanna Legeżyńska is a marine ecologist working at the Department of Marine Ecology at the Institute of Oceanology Polish Academy of Sciences. Her research centres on the Arctic crustaceans and feeding ecology of the invertebrates of the west Spitsbergen fjords. She studied biological oceanography at the University of Gdańsk, receiving her M. Sc. in 1997. In 2002 she received a PhD in biological oceanography from the University of Gdańsk. The focus of her PhD research was on scavenging amphipods in the fjords of Spitsbergen. Since 2003 she has been employed at the Institute of Oceanology PAS. In the DWARF project she joins the benthic team (WP 4) to assist with collecting samples and identification of crustaceans as well as the analysis of the size structures in populations of selected crustacean species.
